Field Trip to Great Harvest Bread Company

Today we went on a field trip to Great Harvest Bread with a few friends from my twins club (and a few of my other friends that came along too!). I thought it was great and really enjoyed it. The manager did a great job with the young children. She showed them how the bread slicer works, how the flour starts as a seed and is ground into flour. She showed the kids the huge mixing bowls and mixer, the dough lifter, huge oven, etc. She started out by reading the story "The Little Red Hen" and shows how the hen grows the wheat, picks the wheat, thrashes the wheat, grinds the flour, mixes the dough, bakes the bread, etc....and then she showed how they do all those things there. It was cute. The kids got to knead their own dough and of course their favorite part was having some yummy bread and butter at the end. They even gave us wheat seeds to grow at home and a coupon for a free loaf of bread:) It was a fun field trip:) I would highly recommend it! Thanks Kirstynn and Laurel for joining our group too! Fun!

Spring has Sprung! Finally!...I see a light at the end of the tunnel and it's starting to warm up here in Michigan...the cold and dreary winter is on it's way out:) We went to the Livington Home Show today at the Howell High School and on the way back we stopped by Tanner and Logan's favorite park, Baldwin park. It's the smallest, oldest little park in Howell I think, but for some reason the boys like it there the best. Mallory and Preston got their first ride in the baby swings outside:) It was a great day today!
